Hello all again! I've been such a blogger failure lately, my last blog was not since Christmas. My apologies for the 5 people who read this...
Well, lets back up to Christmas in Montana. A few things I've learned since my trip about this state:
1) You think the KCI airport is small?...try Bozeman, MT. This is about the size lengths-wide of a Target, maybe smaller, with only 1 terminal, and 5 gates. When I got off the plane I was greeted by this lovely sculpture.
Guess I'm not in kansas anymore (my sister officially has her new montana license and apparently has gotten many, many kansas jokes. she loves them)
2) They don't put salt on the roads to help the ice melt, given that it runs into the waters and kills wildlife, etc. This was a tad terrifying when you're driving on the highway up to Big Sky, which is apparently the deadliest road in America. We saw many little, white crosses on the side of the road driving up. If that doesn't get you excited to drive up & go tubing in BS nothing will!
3) I think the Montana population has some serious gambling problems. There are casinos connected to every single gas station in sight.
4) Its illegal for married women to go fishing alone on sundays, and illegal for unmarried women to fish alone at all. (I feel like this answer would be used as a BS answer for the game balderdash)
5) Montana may be beautiful...
...with plenty of mountains and snow...
But I could never live here. Give me a big city to live in and occasionlly visit a small town like this and I'm a happy girl.
Some highlights from my trip included going snow tubing up at Big Sky
Going to the rock gym
Yikes - Helloooo calf muscles!...thank you 10 years of playing soccer + dance
There were different levels of climbing and each one had a different name. Some of my favorites include...
As opposed to vertical dreams?
Yes please!
Not to be confused with the black gypsies (only my family would understand this one...)
Rock climbing realllllly put me in the mood to go see 127 Hours even though I watched an interview with the actual guy this happened to and nearly threw up just hearing him describe cutting off his arm. I still plan on seeing it soon, but I'll have to be sure I don't eat before-hand, and that I have a barf bag handy!
I got to hang out lots with Alex's new sweet lil, wired puppy named Milo. He acts like your typical average male...
bahahah. Presh.
And we spent Christmas morning driving through the local cemetery...
Don't ask.
Montana was fun but I'm definitely glad to be back home. Life since has been pretty uneventful, but I'm getting closer and closer to finishing HP7! (I know I know, its about time) School starts up again next week, which I'm looking forward to getting back into my normal routine and schedule, nnnooootttt so much looking forward to the school work. But graduation is near - I can see the light at the end of the tunnel!! I don't think its really hit me yet that this is my last semester. But I'm sooooooo ready! Then come August its Dallas here I come! I will definitely miss living in Lawrence, seeing & hanging out pretty frequently with my dad and my sister, and my being with all my friends here... but I'm also excited for a change. (However, I am not very ecstatic about this whole astrology sign change thing...born and raised a libra, now I'm a virgo?! You can't just spring this on me all of a sudden. Identity crisis? Perhaps.)
I hope yall enjoy the rest of your weekend tonight, and for some of you a longer MLK weekend! As for me, I am loading up on nyquil, poppin in The Proposal, catching up on sleep that I definitely did not get last night (but it was worth it!), and trying to get over this stupid cold. Mucho love to everybody!
Long overdue movie quote challenge: "Do you think he'll get mad if I run upstairs? I made him an 'I'm sorry I threw paint on your chicken' card!"
