TGIF. Tis been a loooooooong, hectic week! Next week shall be pretty jam packed too, so I'll definitely be enjoying in much needed laziness this weekend!
I love my Fridays. No class. Sleeping in an hour. Making a fun breakfast (this morning was banana blueberry waffles - I haven't used my mini waffle maker in forever, I need to bust this baby out more often!). Goin to the rec center for a Butz & Gutz class (the class is just as it sounds...and my tuckus will be all kinds of sore tomorrow!) And next on the agenda is heading to Panera for a free coffee (thank you rewards club) and having some chill time/people watching (don't lie, you know you enjoy people watching as a hobby too), and working on a paper (followed by only 2 more papers of my college career. Hallelujah.) Then probably a chill night in with the roomie. Saturday is the KU game, and also is going to be a baking extravaganza day with some girlfriends - which if you know me, I'm always stoked to bake up a storm in the kitchen.
So lets back up just a bit. Yesterday was something that would only happen to me. Heres the lowdown. GPS's are supposed to help you reach your destination, right? They help you get from point A to point B. If you're directionally challenged (like yours truly) they should be your BFF. Wrong, wrong, wrong.
I was in the office for one of my practicum days and was asked to drive to Emporia to pick up a kid and bring him back to Topeka. I wasn't doing a whole lot so I agreed, and someone gave me their GPS so help me get there. Wellllllll, apparently I thought I knew the general idea of where I was going so I saw the first direction was to get on I-70. I put down the GPS on the passenger seat (there was no stand or anything to hold it up in the window) knowing it would talk to me giving me step-by-step directions. I continue on I-70 past Lawrence, and make it all the way to Kansas City, which is a good 30 or so minutes. I'm sitting here thinking, "hmmm this thing hasn't said anything the whole trip, maybe I should look at it." WHOOPS. This stupid thing was on mute the whole time and was telling me to turn around...I was driving in the wrong direction for a good 30 minutes, meaning it would take another 30 minutes to turn around, putting me in the car for another hour. Good job, Tori. As if that wasn't lame enough, this car didn't even have cruise control.
About 2 hours later I finally make it to Emporia. At least on the drive back I had someone to talk to. The kid I picked up and me talked a lot of the time about video games; mostly good 'ol Mario Kart. Classic! I challenge any of you to Mario Kart on Nintendo64. Not gonna lie...I'm kind of awesome, and would kick your bootay! ; ) (on the wii is another story, I still have some work on that one to claim an awesome title)

Boo-yah!
Who is yalls favorite player? Mine is the cute, little, green dino. Yoshi! Hands down. I absolutely hate DK and Bowser.
Not only did we talk about video games, we talked about holidays - specifically the 4th of July. This could easily be my 2nd favorite holiday. (Christmas is numbero uno) Its sweet summertime, being outdoors, bar-b-qs, ice cream, and fireworks! We talked about our favorite fireworks, with mine being the ones that blow up and then scatter really fast looking like itty bitty bugs. Then lets just say after all this talk I was very very in the mood for Katy Perry's song Firework, and came home and headed to the rec center and put Firework on repeat for at least 10 times in a row....
Sooooo pretttyyyyyy...
Well, unfortunately I must begin working on my paper to knock it outta the way today. So to wrap up, here is a video to kick off your weekend right!
Is it sad that I rewound this about 5 times and was still cracking up? What can I say?...Schadenfreude! In the words of Avenue Q...
-Schadenfreude...what is that some kind of Nazi word?
-Yep, its German for 'happiness at the misfortune of others'
-'Happiness at the misfortune of others'...that IS German!
Have a happy happy weekend everyone! Its supposed to hit the 50's - PTL! Lets get rid of all this snow and bring on some sunshine and warmness! And a quote for valentines day..."All you need is love. But a little chocolate now and then doesn't hurt." -Charles Schulz
